The daughter of a diamond miner, Shanna O'Hara was born in Africa and spend the majority of her childhood in the jungles of Zaire. While hunting a rogue leopard, Shanna's father accidentally shot and killed her mother, leading Shanna to forever forsake the use of firearms. After attending college in the States, Shanna returned to Africa and began living in the jungles, protecting it from poachers. Eventually, she came to the Savage Land where she fell in love with and married Ka-Zar. Now, after Ka-Zar's assumed death, Shanna continues to protect the Savage Land from the encroachments of the modern world.
