Davis Cameron only wanted one thing out of life: to keep on surfing. Instead, he was torn from his home reality, learned he was a mutant, got saddled with a bunch of weirdos who wanted to leave their home realities, and is now on the run from the world conquering Emperor Khan. Now the captain of the crosstime ship the Excelsior, Slipstream uses his ability to surf between realities to stay one step ahead of his enemies - and to get one step closer to home.

Irene Cameron has been involved in all of this since long before Davis ever was. Gifted with the ability to see into the past, Legacy has lost her homeworld, her husband, and her dreams. Now, for perhaps the first time, she fights for a new future alongside Slipstream and the crew of the Excelsior.

May Parker was a younger woman when she met, and fell in love, with a brillant surgeon named Stephen Strange. She was there when he was injured in a car crash and searched the world for a way to save him. Eventually finding the mystical Ancient One, May was taught the magical ways of the world, and became it's new Sorceress Supreme! Having brought peace to her world, May joins the Excelsior to see the sights, meet new people, eat strange foods, and perhaps find something she lost long ago...

When Steve Rogers became Captain America, he knew that going to war would be hard. But he didn't realize it would cost him his allies and frieds. His spirit broken, Rogers fell into despair, wanting only vengence for his comrades. His secret curses were answered when he was imbued with a Spirit of Vengence and became known as the Geist. Now, looking only to escape the unending horrors of war, Rogers abandons his home reality and gets lost in the Multiverse with the crew of the Excelsior.

The sole survivor of his home reality, Doom is a mad yet brillant genius. Alone for decades, Doom jumped at the chance to join Davis and the others on their odyssey through space/time. He built the Excelsior, their ship and home between realities, and it's his broken mind that has taken on the task of mapping all of Creation. Otherwise appearing harmless, no one knows the secret of Doom's world...or the role he played in its destruction.
