The son of Magneto and the twin brother of the Scarlet Witch, Pietro Maximoff was raised in the mountains of Wundagore. He and his sister were originally members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Following skirmishes with the X-Men, Quicksilver and his sister joined the Avengers. Since then, Pietro has been an on-again, off-again member of the team, and has also leant his superhuman speed as a member of the government-sponsored X-Factor.

Wanda Maximoff is the daughter of Magneto. Raised with her twin brother, Quicksilver, in the mountains of Wundagore, the pair were originally members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants before they chose to reform, joining the Avengers. Wanda has since remained a mainstay of the Avengers, serving with many different incarnations, her mutant hex and mystical knowledge always giving the team an advantage.

A brilliant scientist, Hank Pym discovered a way to alter size via a special compound he named Pym Particles. Using these Particles, Hank first began his career as the superhero Ant-Man and was a founding member of the Avengers. Since then, Hank has taken on a number of names, including Goliath, Yellowjacket and Giant-Man. Although he went through a dark period in his past, Hank has since recovered and remains an active member of the West Coast Avengers.

Born in Russia, Laynia Petrova is the daughter of the Presence and sister to Vanguard. She possesses the mutant ability to wield the mysterious Darkforce. She can manipulate the Darkforce in a variety of ways, such as teleportation, flight, shields, or to project it. Over the course of her life, Darkstar has served as a member of the Champions as well as the Soviet Super Soldiers and the Winter Guard. Coming to the west coast because of a submarine that utilizes Darkforce energy, Darkstar wound up joining the West Coast Avengers.

Simon Williams was thrust into a life of crime after a failed attempt to embezzle money from his father's company landed him in an alliance with the Masters of Evil. An ionic ray treatment courtesy of Baron Zemo endowed Simon with the abilities of superhuman strength, stamina, and flight, and transformed his body from flesh to ionic energy. After dying and subsequently dying, Wonder Man joined the Avengers and even served on the original west coast team under Hawkeye. He also has enjoyed success as an actor in the past, a passion he has returned to in addition to joining the new west coast team of Avengers.

An accomplished attorney with some self-confidence issues, Jennifer Walters once required an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner. The transfusion had an unexpected side-effect and the gamma-irradiated blood of Banner transformed Jennifer into the Sensational She-Hulk! Unlike her cousin, Jennifer remains in control of herself and has served as an Avenger and a member of the Fantastic Four.

Maria de Guadalupe Santiago is the daughter of Peliali, the volcano goddess of the Kamekeri and a human man. Her father died at a young age and Lupe was taken in by a church orphanage sponsored by ChildCare. Edwin Jarvis, the Avengers' butler, gave contributions to Lupe and she wrote to him over the years. Eventually, Lupe came to America for college where she met Jarvis and joined the Avengers for a time, using her ability to change into various animals native to the rain forest.
